A Disaster in the Theatre

It was my first time on stage in front of so many people, and I was super nervous.   We were 5 minutes until the show, when all the trouble started.
It started when the lighting in the theatre burned out.   Then the concession stand ran out of popcorn, the manager got into a fight with one of the spectators, and the curtain fell with me still behind it.  I just stood there, terrified and I thought, "Well what a start."
The angry audience  laughed and the emergency lights came on.  I knew they were expecting me to say something, but I was so nervous, I forgot my line...

Alot can happen in 2 minutes...

When this crowd started cheering for me it felt awesome, now its just annoying.
Its almost impossible to concentrate on playing basketball when every 2 seconds someone calls your name or tries to take your picture.
Normally, I ignore it, but today my team and I need to focus and win the money because if we don't, we might never play again.
2 minutes left.  The score is 8-7 and the crowd is even louder.   All my team has to do is defend for 2 more minutes.
The other team stole the ball.  The crowd sounds like they are booing.  8-9, and my team is barley moving.  I have to fix this.   The ball is in my hands, and I have a clear  shot.
Missed because of a picture.  30 seconds left.  10 seconds. 5 seconds.  I  think its going in and...

The Black Flamingo

After a week of searching the southern coasts of Cyprus,  I finally found the rare Black Flamingo!    It was a relief and an extraordinary sight.
I was relieved because before I came to Cyprus, I bragged to everyone I knew that I had a picture of this amazing creature.
I was ecstatic!   I quickly reached for my camera, but my bag was empty.
Panicking, I looked around to see if I dropped it, only to see it underneath the flamingos foot.   The flamingo poked it before kicking it into the middle of the lake it standing was in....

A Scary Lab Accident

I looked around, shocked to see where I was.   I was supposed to be in a lab working on a teleporter, but I ended up teleporting myself.
I was obviously on another planet because it had red circle shaped grass,  a green sky, and 4 purple plants.   It looked like that was all there was for miles.
I knew I had to find a way home before I met any aliens, and my teleporter needed water to work, so I started walking.
I walked for about 10 minutes before I found a small lake.   Running up to it felt strange, and as I stared into the water, it began to turn green.
That was when I noticed something staring at me...

The Amazing Race

I needed to win this race.
The prize was 500,000 dollars and I needed it I wanted the only hospital in the area to stay open.
It was torture to wait for the race to start, especially with everyone I know watching.

      "BANG!"
I started to sprint as soon as I heard the first gun shot.  I was going so fast, I did not even notice the audience panicking in the  stands.
The other racers were getting closer.  The gunmen were starting to aim for the track.
I could see the finish line,  then every thing went black.

When I woke up, I saw a picture of my hand passing the finish line.

The Door Is Right!

"Welcome back to another thrilling episode of 'The Door is Right!' the show where we challenge the minds of even the smartest contests!  Today, we are testing the mind of  Diljeet Kaur!"
I peeked through the purple velvet curtains.   There was a full (and very loud) audience, watching a wooden stage with a microphone stand and a platform for the Host.  Behind the Host were two doors, one purple, and one blue.  I had to chose one,  if I was right, I would win a huge pile of cash, but if I was wrong, I would have to swim with a dozen sharks for an hour.
It seemed simple enough , but how would I know which one was right?

Fireflies

         "Crack!  Rrrrrip! "
"What was that!?" I screamed, as I looked down and saw that a branch ripped the skin of my leg off.
"Are you ok?" my friend asked, looking terrified at my leg,
An hour ago we were walking along a trail in the forest and decided to explore a path that was off the map.  We knew the way back out, but it was too dark to see anything.
"Where are the bandages?" I asked.
      "We didn't bring any."
Suddenly, as if they could hear us, thousands of fireflies came carrying a piece of silk cloth.
We used it as a bandage as they lit our way to safety.

Breaking News

"Breaking news!  If you haven't already noticed, the rumors that the sun has turned purple are true, and scientists everywhere are extremely frightened.  We will have more on this story as it develops."
I turned off the TV and laughed, the whole world knew about the sun.  It was bright purple, turned the sky pink,  and was twice as big a usual, even though it was farther away.   It made the world colder, and everything in its mysterious sunshine  turned to ice.
I looked out the window and almost fell when I saw 3 huge creatures fly out of the sun.  They flew up to my window and stared at me...

The Broken Lock

"Hello? 911?" I asked, glancing around nervously.
"Yes, what's the emergency?" a woman's voice answered.
"Someone broke into my house!  The lock on my front door is broken and I hear someone running around upstairs."
"Where..." I heard a ringing sound and gasped in horror as I looked up to see a tall, smiling man holding a pair of scissors and a broken phone wire.
I screamed and tried to run away, but the man grabbed my arm.  I pulled it away and sprinted out the door, only to see a hooded person with a hammer in my drive way..

Can You Figure Out the Ending?

"I was framed!" I screamed, trying to escape from the guards painful grip.
"Then why was your name on the wall beside the body?" He asked and unlocked a cell.
I never got a chance to tell him that the doctor (in the same building as us) who committed the crime spray painted my name on a wall to frame me because before I could say anything, he shoved me inside, locked it and walked away.
I looked around the cell and even though I hated the fact that I was in  Alcatraz, I smiled. There was a stapler, a painting with a nail stuck in it, a can of red paint, and what  looked like a doll.  I knew how I could prove myself innocent.

The Tomb of Treasures

I was starting to get bored of following the tour guide around the outside of the pyramids, so I ran inside.
The first thing I saw was a wall covered in hieroglyphics with a door behind it.  I decoded the message using a translator the tour guide gave me, and immediately became curious.  The hieroglyphics translated to:  Beware! Those who enter this tomb never come out alive!
Instead of "entering" the tomb, I opened the door and saw a huge pile of gold, jewels, and treasure chests.  I imagined what it would be like to have all I could see and sprinted over to take some.
The door slammed shut and suddenly the roof began to collapse...

A Scary Situation

I glanced nervously at the airplane as I locked my violin case and ran towards the boarding gate.  I was going to Yellowknife to play at my first violin concert, and if I did  not hurry up, I would be late.
It was my first time on a plane because I was afraid of heights, so as I sat down, I was nervous.  The plane shook violently as it took off.  Confused, I looked at the person beside me and asked if planes always do that.
She said no and leaned over to look out the window.  The plane swept over a tall tree and began to shake.   I was regretting that I had eaten a sandwich before boarding....

The Whistle

"Attention!  Attention! All prisoners get ready for inspection!" the guard demanded, blowing his whistle.
One of the prisoners mumbled and the guard turned to him.  "What did you say?"
" How did you get that? I thought they locked it up." the prisoner looked shocked and her cellmate laughed.
"What do you mean locked up?' the guard asked nervously.
"Didn't you hear? That whistle was used by the worlds deadliest man. He disguised himself as a soccer coach and when he blew it, all the kids would disappear."
"This is just another whistle, probably like the one that man in your story used."
There was laughter among the prisoners and suddenly, a whistle blew and everyone disappeared. The guard saw the shadow of a man, and ran out of the prison.

The Man At the Airport

There is a statue in an airport without a plaque, but even without a plaque, it has a huge message.  It is for a World War 1 Veteran who saved hundreds of lives.
His story was that he was waiting for his plane when enemy soldiers burst out of nowhere, shooting from all angles.  He dove under a nearby bench and loaded his gun.  Innocent people were everywhere.  Trying to find an escape route, he screamed, "BOMB!"
Everyone ducked except the enemy, who ran around looking for the bomb, even though there was none.
Just then, the plane came, and the innocent people sprinted up the ramp, leaving the enemy clueless.
The man died at the airport because he was the last to board the plane and got shot  running up the ramp.  He could not read, so when the grateful people made a statue in his honor, they did not write anything.

My Worst Sailing Day

Captains log, day 46:
Today is my worst sailing day yet.
It started when  I heard a noise coming from my cabin, and went to investigate.
The second I stepped inside, I saw a strange man.  "Who're you?" I shouted.
" If you care about the safety of your crew, you will leave." he whispered.
   "What're you doing," I asked.
    "Name?"
    "Why?"
" I need your name to report who is responsible for sinking this boat." the man said calmly, lighting  a candle.
I lunged forward, but the man moved away, dropping the candle.  He charged through the door, locking it behind him.  I heard shouts from the crew, as the flame flickered and then went out.
Now I am alone writing this, so people will  know how my ship sank...

A Scary Night

I remember lying in bed with my favourite pyjamas on, thinking that there was just a normal thunder storm outside, but I was wrong.
I felt like I would never get enough silence to sleep, but somehow I managed, only to wake up an hour later.  I had woken up because I felt water on my bed.  At first I thought I peed myself, except when I looked around I saw that that my whole house was flooded!
I called my family and we practically swam  out the door and found the street flooded with the water rising.  A ladder floated past, and struggling, I grabbed it, lead my family to the roof where we tried and failed to get an orange helicopter to notice us.

The Suspicious Man

It happened after checking in a suspicious looking man, who just sat in the lobby, instead of going to his room.
The man kept looking around, and before I could see why,  I heard a snap and suddenly, the lights went out.
People began panicking and running around.  The lights came on, and people stared at the ground, mumbling things.  At first I thought it was shock or something, but then I realized that they were robbed.
I scanned the chaos, spotted the suspicious looking man running outside. I sprinted after him, until he ran into an alley. I ran in, but found it empty, I heard a noise, turned around, and found myself trapped with the suspicious man...

An Unexpected Twist

" I know who did it!" I screamed after what seemed like hours of staring at a list of clues and suspects.
        "Who?" asked the chief detective.
"You'll see!" I said before running out the door to the beach.
Once there, I quickly told the volunteer in charge of cleaning the beach what happened.  A person was stealing bottles from the "litter" bin near the parking lot, probably to recycle and get money, and I knew how to confirm who.
All I had to do was get some volunteers to disguise as recycle bins, and when the thief  came to look in them, we would arrest them.
The thief came, but not in a way I expected....

My Strange Memory

It has been 10 years since I started my dream job of owning a bookstore.  Even now I remember the strange thing that happened when I started.
Around the time when I first opened my store and started to order books, I got 3 boxes less than a day after I ordered only 2.  I thought it was a good thing because I could start setting up early.
Deciding to start right then, I opened the first box.   I put my hand in the box and felt a mess of paper. Looking inside, I saw the books I ordered ruined.  The second box was the same, but the third box had a note inside.

The Spot

It was 5 years ago, and I had finally perfected a time portal that could be used to travel through time, space, and sometimes dreams.  I nicknamed it "the spot" hoping people would think it was a stain remover.
Anyways, during one of my tests, I ended up on a strange planet.  Before I could even look around, something charged past me.  I jumped out and tried to see where it went, and found it running towards me.
I jumped out of the way, causing the creature to go back into the portal. Immediately, I attempted to close it, but the spot just grew and grew....

My First Lie

Yesterday I told my first Lie.   I was at a concession stand in the movies, trying to see what I could get with 5 dollars, when I saw a Row of Chips
I asked for the price, and the lady at the counter said, "11 Dollars."
I knew I did not have enough, so I said, "I don't have enough, but if you give me the bag now, I can ask my mom and pay you after the movie."
As soon as she gave me the bag, I felt guilty.  To make things worse, the chips tasted Sweet and when I checked the bag, I found a dead Fly stuck to it.

The Worlds Biggest Computer Hack

Detective Saajhe loved solving  mysteries, but not in a way you might think.  He liked to solve  mysteries that were claimed unsolvable by officials.
This time, he was working on solving the worlds biggest computer hack.  Other detectives tried, but whenever they got close to solving the case, something bad would happen.
Detective Saajhe decided that searching for the suspect would be useless, so instead he went to investigate the crime scene.
The hacked computer was the computer sheriffs use to monitor criminals that were sent to a new prison of the coast of Vancouver Island.
Hours later, the detective found an interesting file.  He was about to open it WHEN THE CONNECTON BROKE and the screen went blank....

An Important Life Lesson

Two beggars once walked around a Chinese village asking the rich why they never helped the poor.  The rich replied, "We earned this money out of hard work.  You should try that."
The next day, they asked for a job. The rich replied, "We inherited our businesses.  You inherited begging.  Go search somewhere else. "
Finally, they went to the richest man they knew.  He owned a huge business and was hiring.  When they asked for a job, he replied by asking, "What did you do before this?"
          "Beg," they answered.
They were rejected.  They tried to start a business, but failed.  A statue was built in their honour saying, "A life spent begging is a life wasted."

                                                      The Worlds Best Super Hero...

When most people hear the words super hero, they think of a firefighter, doctor, or  superman.  They do not know about their own super hero, and that is the person who brought them into this world.
Very few people realize that Moms are superheroes too.  I have heard about a Mom who decided her child's life was more important than hers.  She gave him her heart when his failed.
Another stayed up every night just to make sure her daughter did not die of sleep apnea.
There are a lot more, but my point is to say that Moms are our heroes.  They would do anything for us, so never take them for granted.

                                                  HOW I LOST MY MONKEY
I really love my job, but right now I am so embarrassed that I am actually thinking of a polite way to say "I quit."
My job is to train the monkeys that go into space at NASA.  You would think that the only paperwork for this job is recording the monkeys progress, but I am practically swimming in paper.
The only benefit for all this paperwork is that it will most likely bring my smartest monkey in space.
All I have to do now is- where did he go? I think the gas from that green rocket is giving me hallucinations or something.
"Wait!  Is that monkey dancing?" I heard someone behind me ask.
"He's a good dancer." someone else said laughing.
I looked up to see what they were looking at and I saw my monkey starting the rocket with my boss coming towards me...

A Day I Will Never Forget
There was a  rumor a few days ago about a UFO flying over Vancouver, and I just laughed at it.
I mean, who would believe that?
I was proved wrong when later that day, as I was walking home, I had a strange feeling that someone was watching me.  So I started to walk faster and faster until I was running.  A bright light came from behind me and as  I turned around, I realized that the rumors were true.
Behind me was a huge UFO.  I screamed and ran into my house.   I was dialing 911, when the door opened and there it was again.

                                                   The Mystery at the Zoo

Jessica was a detective who lived around the world.  She really did not live anywhere because before she could settle in, she was sent on another case somewhere else.
This time, her mission was in Australia.  She had to figure out why all the animals in the zoo were hyper.
At first she laughed and wondered why anyone would do that to an animal.
Jessica looked around the zoo's office for the security footage.  When she found it, she was shocked to see that a guard was feeding the animals steroids to "make them more interesting to see."
      What a sick man!

                                    100 Word Challenge #2

I was flying to school, when I  saw a huge dragon, burning a building down.  Racing  over I  screamed, " What are you doing!"
" She stole my treasures!" The dragon loudly replied.
I quickly realized that if I did not do something, the girl inside would die.  So  I  asked," What if I go in and get your treasures?"
" She already sold them!  Now  I don't even know where they are!"
I panicked and instead of answering, I grabbed the crying woman, and told her to call the firefighters.  The dragon turned around and his wing touched the fire, bursting into flames.
The firefighters came just in time, and the dragon was saved, but his anger became worse...

                                                   100 Word Challenge

Standing here waiting to be on TV is brutal.  I am only here  because I sent a tape of myself for a contest, and won.  I must be talented, because I did it as a joke.
I only have 7 lines, but it seems like a million.  My turn.  My heart is pounding so hard, I can barley hear the director.  I say my lines, and for fun, I show off my acting skills a little, because apparently, I have a lot.
I know I did good, but later that day, I saw myself.
  I wish I could act.
